Techno. Tantra. Devotion. Desire.
One night inspired by the sacred traditions of Ancient India.
“The human body is the temple of God.
The sacred flame of your inner shrine is constantly bright.” - Rig Veda
Fox&Badge humbly invite you to a world inspired by Ancient India, where the body was not an obstacle to enlightenment - but the very temple itself; where pleasure - refined, conscious, embodied - was counted among life's four great aims (alongside ethics, prosperity, and liberation).
Our night reverentially explores the profound, platonic, secular liberations of Tantra, Lila (divine play), Shaktism and the Kama Sutra (a rich Sanskrit tome instructing not just on sex, but how to live one’s best life). We welcome the Tantric vision of our body as a divine vessel for awakening, the Kama Sutra’s invitation to pleasure as growth, and the insight the West still struggles to imagine: a civilisation that placed the Divine Feminine at the very centre of reality - as the animating force of the universe itself.
In this masculine world, we give primacy to the voice, radiance and power of the feminine - so beautifully exemplified by Shakti, the primordial energy of creation and destruction, order and chaos, birth and death, lover and mother; both Divine and Dark Feminine, immeasurably powerful alone, yet infinite in unison with Shiva.
We celebrate the full dignity of the feminine - from warrior to dancer and courtesan - and the ancient recognition of nonbinary Hijras genders. And we borrow deep broader inspiration from the expansive yet elusive millennia of “Ancient India”, that vast melting pot of overlapping traditions, languages, philosophies and peoples, forever - and still - in conversation with each other.
-

SACRED SOUND: Temple of Techno (all-female lineup; dark, driving beats) + Antarala of Intimacy (deeper, more organic sounds upstairs) + Sanctum of Sound (live kirtan & devotional chanting)
-

DEVOTIONAL PERFORMANCE: ancient-inspired, fiercely embodied, gloriously transgressive
-

IMMERSIVE RITUAL: transformed spaces dripping with gold, silk, incense & sacred intention
-

CONSCIOUS COMMUNITY: open hearts, awakened bodies, warm souls ready to rise together. Come explore…
We are delighted to be joined and led by a host of South Asian DJs, musicians, artists, performers and guides across every layer of the night as we deeply immerse in the sensual, spiritual, and artistic traditions of their ancient heritage. We approach these traditions with reverence and gratitude, in homage to the philosophies that have already shaped so much of our work at Fox&Badge - evolving within this living, pluralistic ritual; a night of sovereign sensuality, and a space of personal and collective intimacy and empowerment.
Come to be witnessed and adorned, held and released. Come feel the eros of a room full of people who have chosen, consciously, to be fully alive. Come let your body remember that desire is sacred, pleasure is intelligence, connection is generosity, and we are one.

DELIGHTS TO EXPLORE…
Though we inhabit nightclubs (exemplary temples of sound and light), we are not a rave. We are more like a nocturnal festival - slowly transforming into a ritual. We seek to offer you multiple places to both explore and expand. To meet your many selves (& others), and delve deeper into your archetypes.
Our rich lineup of techno and music, performance and immersivity will deeply evolve over the coming months to include:
Temple of Techno (largest dancefloor with all female lineup playing darker, driving beats)
Lotus Stage (distributed arena of majestic, bespoke, thematic performance, inc aerialists)
Antarala of Intimacy (upper dancefloor; deeper, more organic sound; masculine energy)
Sanctum of Sound (live music chamber, including Kirtan & devotional collective chanting)
Nest of Pleasure (upper viewing balcony, dedicated to sensuality, surrender and intimacy)
Temple of Touch (gentle Tantra & conscious touch; breathwork, embodiment rituals)
House of Surrender (Dom + Domme balance of energies; restraints, impact & safeguarding)
House of Silk Shibari (surrender to restraints & the freedoms of constriction)
Chamber of Massage (a feast of flesh, symphony of pressures, invitation to reciprocity)
Courtyard of Courtship (Hourly events for singles & others to meet & conjoin)
Maidan of Immersion (eruptive moments of interactive quests and joy)
Gardens of Connection (expansive soft chillout space, encouraging intertwining)
Sanctuary of Welfare Angels (care, compassion, conversation and chai)
Shrine of Devotion (a space for reverence, contemplation, prayer and offerings)
Adornment Altar (gold, jewels, and devotional markings by our artist priestesses)
Warm and Welcoming Community (deep gratitude to you all! <3)

ANCIENT DEVOTION MEETS MODERN LIBERATION
RESPECTFUL REVERENCE
Jewellery is the centrepiece - let gold drape your body like a prayer.
Chains connecting nose to ear, wrist to finger, ankle to toe.
Hard, geometric metal kisses soft, organic skin.
Fabulous flesh generously shared and adorned (Heaven has a nudity license; you are free to flaunt)
Simple swathes of fabric - draped, wrapped, strategically withheld.
Explosive use of warm colours - saffron and crimson, reds and oranges, pinks and yellows.
You can explore a smorgasbord of costume ideas on our growing Pinterest board (all our event Pinterests are always linked in and discoverable on our event pages).
Think: temple dancer meets techno reverent. Erotic and elemental. Adorned; abundant; aflame. The sensuality of Indian classical dress - and the courage to bare what it conceals ;)
“Love, when it is pure, has a revitalizing effect upon others, and in the presence of a truly loving person, others grow and expand into a healthier state of being.”

LOVING RESPECT
We ask that all clothing and jewellery are worn with loving respect and appreciation. Researching and understanding cultural contexts builds awareness and connection. We invite our community to celebrate with thoughtfulness, reverence and gratitude.
Remember that some of these cultural items were not always so easy to wear for all; that this country has a troubled history or colonialism, racism and prejudice, and many people suffered for simply being themselves - and we honour them, and express our deep regret for centuries of trauma and abuse. We also seek to respectfully and thoughtfully and empathetically celebrate and honour this glorious culture, and move towards tender, insightful positivity. We’re not trying to push you into the fear zone of paralysis - but simply encourage thoughtful engagement.
Consider a research trip to some of London’s many glorious hotspots of South Asian culture (Southall; Brick Lane & Banglatown; Whitechapel; Wembley; Tooting) to explore fabrics, clothes, jewellery, culture and local conversation.
Please refrain from dressing as a Hindu deity; try channeling that energy instead.
Please note that the Five Ks of Sikhism (Kesh, Kara, Kanga, Kachera, Kirpan) are worn for faith, which has at times been persecuted, and thus has extra sensitivity; avoid non-devotional turbans. Ditto saddhu robes - unless you are, or are becoming, a saddhu..
Our only clear prohibitions are caricature; disrespect; disinterest; mockery.
Some of the jewellery shown here, whilst not sacred, conveys import and ceremony - e.g. weddings or prayer; if wearing it, please approach it in that spirit, safeguarding its meaning. Be a great custodian.
We ask that all clothing and jewellery are worn with loving respect and appreciation. Researching and understanding cultural contexts builds awareness and connection. We invite our community to celebrate with thoughtfulness, reverence and gratitude.
Ultimately we ask you to ask yourself: is this loving & respectful?
This event offers unbelievably sumptuous sartorial offerings; but like the beautiful people we host, they all need your care & respect, and in effect - you need their consent; can you treat them all with loving respect?
Some of the jewellery shown here is almost sacred to some; others conveys import and ceremony - e.g. weddings or prayer; if wearing it, please approach it in that spirit, safeguarding its meaning. Be a great custodian. Bindis, whilst widely accepted and work as fashion items in India, can also easily cause offence if worn casually and without understanding.
We invite you to excitedly learn about this gorgeous world; investigate the histories and meanings of hair ornaments (Passa/Jhoomar; Sheeshpool; Maang Tikka; Kaan chains; a million headdresses); respectfully add a bridal Kolka, or a Nath or Nathni nose hoop, Phul or Laung; frame your ears with Kaanphool or Jhumka; add a fluttering veil or Dupatta, silk or chiffon; caress your neck with a Haram or elaborate neckpiece; wrap your midriff in a Stanpatta or Risha, Choli or Blouse (especially if flaunting your glorious back + sharing your belly); embellish your arms and sling your wrists with bangles and bracelets; paint hands and feet with elaborate Mehnda; wrap loins with Dhoti, Sarong and Lunghi; lace ankles with chains - this is the very greatest feast to revere and explore.
GENERAL COSTUME GUIDANCE
Explore, augment, embellish - & shed ;) You don’t have to wear fetish or expose your flesh, though we all best revel in self expression; you do have to dress thoughtfully on theme.
Avoid slavish convention; add deviance & flair. Let go of gender stereotypes; allow fluid exchange between both masculine and feminine energy - & clothing. Reinvent. Experiment. We love sexy, wild creativity.
We especially love stuff you carefully and lovingly made yourself. No major expenditure is needed.
Consider attending our event-specific Costume Workshop, ~2 weeks before the event, which is also a great opportunity to meet other attendees (more on that soon). This is a high-production, co-created arts & fetish event.
It looks a little like a film set. Together we can create magic & mystery. The banal & everyday are disruptive and unwelcome, and belong completely elsewhere.
Absolutely NO daywear, streetwear, businesswear, officewear, banal-wear, or anything off-theme will be allowed. Absolutely NO T-shirts, shirts, jackets, slacks, sneakers - or anything ordinary you’d just wear down the street.
Our door team protect the event by denying entry to those who have not made a sincere effort. We want you all to enter - but also need to safeguard the collective. Access is purely your responsibility.
Our intention is not to stress you, but to exalt you. To unleash your inner artist. If you are trying to figure out how to make this as easy and basic as possible, this is not the event for you; please simply come to one of our casual-wear meetups or workshops instead.
Any dress-code queries, please contact us via foxandbadge+dresscode@gmail.com & we’ll do our best to respond <3

ON THE RESPECT & APPRECIATION OF CULTURES
We aim to create an event which celebrates the monumental culture of Ancient India, and helps both expand our collective appreciation - and our selves. Perhaps more than any other, Indian culture has been instrumental in expanding our consciousness and rebalancing the skews of Western civilisation; to ignore its contribution is to itself fail to credit and pay homage. India demands our attention and gratitude.
We are humble explorers, investigating the capacity of worlds to enlighten and transform us, kneeling before giants, in awe and reverence. We approach these traditions with respect and curiosity, acknowledging our deficits, seeking to learn. Our approach is neither cavalier nor academic, but authentic and artistic, sensual rather than intellectual, and as syncretic as the traditions themselves.
We welcome constructive feedback, and all those that can help us improve this project and event to most deeply celebrate this extraordinary culture that has suffered immensely at the hand of the West over the centuries.
“In India most creeds are deeply rooted and acknowledged fervently. Virtually the whole population practices some form of devotion… Incomparable and inimitable she is, India is also our great paradigm.”
Geoffrey Moorhouse
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What is your intention with this event?
A: We seek to learn about and celebrate the extraordinary culture, mythology, sensuality and spirituality of Ancient India, and rediscover the paths it offers us to peace, pleasure and wellbeing. As with all our events, our intention is to facilitate connection, liberation, and transformation.
Q: Why of all themes did you choose Ancient India?
A: Ancient India birthed a number of sensual and devotional practices that are foundational to the ways we want to live and operate. For example, we always host a range of Tantric practices at every Fox&Badge event to enable our community to explore conscious touch and the sacredness of sexuality. Ancient India offers the clearest path of enlightened sensual self awareness - and infinite other guidance and inspiration.
Q: Why did you choose the name “Shakti Rising”?
A: We as a community celebrate and centre the Divine Feminine, and have explore this energy across a multitude of events and cultural explorations. Shakti best exemplifies her, offering a deeply rich archetype for us all to learn from. We considered “The Maharani’s Garden” - but it suggested a little too much Raj-era opulence and extravagance, rather than the everyday essence of Shakti-inspired empowered femininity. NB this is not a Hindu-themed event, but one that explores the great melting pot that Ancient India represents - vast diversity , yearning for oneness - and the more universal archetype that Shakti now represents.
Q: How can it be Ancient if you play Techno?
A: Everything ancient was once young and new. Conversely, when we blast out digital data on Heaven’s glorious L Acoustics sound system, we are always engaging in the ancient practices of collective effervescence, community attunement, rhythmic movement, entrancement and enchantment. We have as much to learn from the Old Ways as the realms we haven’t yet experienced.
COSTUME
Q: I’m not South Asian; is it OK for me to wear Indian-inspired clothing?
A: Absolutely. If the clothes are divine, and so are you - it’s a match made in Heaven! Our extensive experience in this - though we cannot remotely speak for everyone - is that the South Asians we’ve canvassed generally enjoy appreciative enjoyment of their culture - and adaptation to their dress style. In a dismal age where all identity dissolves in a mass of shapeless jeans and Tshirt leisurewear, celebrating an inspiring sartorial culture is redemptive and unifying. Issues arise with misplaced tone or intent, & a lack of interest to humbly learn. We ask only that you dress with joy and respect; that you learn and research the facts about what you choose to wear. Some items need extra care and respect.
Q: Are there any types of clothes that I need to be more cautious around?
A: Yes - definitely e.g. anything deemed sacred - or anything that needs to be earned. Almost all Sikhs will be offended by you dressing as a warrior if you are not (much like the Native American War Bonnet needs to be earned in battle, not casually bought).
Q: I’m a little uncertain if my proposed outfit is OK or good enough - how can I check?
A: Check with your mates - or anyone that’s been; post a query on our various social channels. If you email us a picture to foxandbadge+dresscode@gmail.com , we’ll do our very best to get back to you (confession: we’ re underresourced on comms, and not prompt in response). We’re all here to help each other; to operate from love, not fear - and to try & do our best.
“When there is harmony between the mind and the heart, action becomes worship.”
- Swami Vivekananda
SEXUALITY
Q: You touch on spiritual issues yet seem to be overtly sexual - isn’t this a conflict?
A: Absolutely not. We believe and experience that sexuality is sacred, and connects us with the divine, and we seek to share and expand this joy, overcoming fear, shame and all our various speciatl conditionings. We believe we are all deviants-in-waiting; all have our kinks; all have personality - and we applaud and support this, and find honour and dignity in it. We believe sexual expression is a revelation of the soul. We are not righteous, pious or holy; we are humble, flawed, kinky, loving humans who unite in reverence and joy. We kneel and pay homage to the great mystery. We revere eros, creation and love; each invokes spirit.
Q: Does “Tantric” mean this is a sex party?
A: No, sex is neither licensed nor permitted at our events. We hold lovemaking as something sacred, and in the past we experimented with occasional playrooms. Yet they never felt sufficiently reverent. We came to feel that we could not offer a context beautiful or intentional enough to truly honour intimacy - and at times, the mere possibility of sex invited energies that felt acquisitive rather than devotional. Our deepest devotion is to the collective: to shared eros. The dancefloor is a public, communal space - a rare realm beyond the private cloisters of our homes - where we gather not for private consummation, but to dissolve into a unified field of sensual presence and expressive freedom.
Q: How important is consent?
A: It is the most important. It is the guarantor of community. It is the cord that connects us. To defy consent is to break trust and trash the delicate garden that we all grow and tend together. We would prefer to operate on trust; to know that each guest arrives with the best of intentions and sweetest of gifts - rather than have to laboriously re-educate our members with emails, constant posts, and even door briefings. We take it on trust that you have read our house rules (a requirement of each ticket purchase; more at https://www.foxandbadge.com/house-rules); will help manage any friend that turns obnoxious; leave the unsavoury at home.
Q: Is nudity allowed?
A: Yes! & encouraged. It’ll be almost summer. And definitely warm inside. Clothes will not be needed.
Q: Is this event inclusive of South Asians from different religious backgrounds (Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, etc.)?
A: Absolutely! India’s incredible diversity is a key touchstone and inspiration for us. NB with the reference to Shakti, we are not remotely proposing e.g. a Hinducentric event; Shakti both pre-dates Hinduism (itself a modern and somewhat fluid category) and is a key reference in many cultures outside Hinduism. We seek to unite, not divide; to learn, share, exchange - and bring people and culture together in love and peace.
TEAM
Q: Are you working with and consulting the South Asian community?
A: Yes we are. This theme has been developed in steady conversation with a Steering Group containing almost 20 advisors from various South Asian backgrounds - some Fox&Badge regulars, and some who have never been. They have been incredibly supportive and helpful, and continue to share, express and educate us in all kinds of ways, and generally bring a reassuring level of excitement that their culture is being respectfully celebrated.
We're exploring the ways traditional art forms sit alongside techno - and are inviting in deep involvement from South Asian communities to lead in all our teams, from DJs to live music, performances to workshops, door to welfare. If you know anyone that'd like to get involved, we'd love to hear from them!
Q: I’d like to help out - is there any way I can get involved?
A: Yes please! We need a crew of about 250 people to run our nights, and are deeply reliant on an army of brilliant volunteers across all teams. It might be the most beautiful thing about our nights - the collective gift of so many people’s massive generosity, priming the space with love. We’d love to hear more about you and your interests via this form: https://bit.ly/fandbhelp . We’d particularly like to welcome more members of the South Asian community to co-create this event with us - whether as DJs or musicians, performers or immersives, meeters and greeters or temple guardians.
Thanks for reading this mini epic!

Heaven is THE apex venue - the iconic labyrinth and LGBTIQA+ Mecca lodged smack central under Charing Cross Station, right by the river, oozing with history and possibility.
Heaven run their own events Monday through Saturday, so we can only ever run events there on a Sunday evening (our setup times are so long that daytime events remain challenging to contemplate).
We are thrilled and honoured that they have given us the highly-prized 1st May Bank Holiday Sunday evening slot - so most of us can rest before we return to work on Tuesday.
-
Some HEAVEN venue access information can be found at https://g-a-yandheaven.co.uk/about/accessibility/
The venue is generally accessed from the South via a flight of stairs, but wheelchair users can approach on ramped surfaces via the delivery entrance to the West (from the North end of Craven Street). That approach (which regrettably has no disabled parking) gives access to our quietest space (which will also host Tantra to one side), which has the disabled toilet, quiet seating, and a viewing balcony with great sightlines of our Room1 large dancefloor.
HEAVEN have installed a new lift that enables wheelchair access across all of the ground floor areas, though regrettably the 2 smaller upstairs areas remain inaccessible to wheelchairs (our team are more than happy to help lift anyone that can accept that).
There are quieter internal chillout areas with plenty of seating in our new LiveMusic room; a less quiet chillout area with tons of seating adjacent to the large dancefloor ; and guests can always take a break outside in the large covered smoking area at the entrance.
We deeply wish to make our events as accessible and inclusive as possible; to help us do this please email any questions and access requirements to foxandbadge+accessibility@gmail.com. We will be as accommodating as possible.
If you purchase a ticket to one of our events and it is not possible for you to queue, please email us at least 48hrs before the event starts to arrange faster access in advance.
If you need a carer & would like to apply for a free carer ticket, please email us with more info on your circumstances.
Generally due to the shape of existing buildings, we may have areas that are unsuitable for those with specific access requirements, for which we apologise.

We celebrate expression over restriction, and take and share a modicum of photos and videos our nights. It is not practical or implementable for our crew to ask every guest in our many vast rooms for their explicit consent; please feel entitled to tell any photographers if you do not want to be filmed - or photographed or ask for a white wristband at the door which signifies you do not want to be photographed. Images of the night will be shared discreetly on our channels. We will of course instantly honour the request for removal or blurring of any photos you are not comfortable with; your privacy is paramount.
We kindly request our guests to leave their phones to the side as much as possible, not film the night, and simply be fully present; we will share all our beautiful professional photos & videos with our community immediately after the event. There are strictly no photos allowed in dungeons or sensual spaces. If in doubt, ask. Please only photograph with the utmost consideration, awareness and respect.

We believe in equality & reciprocity. We do not want to generate revenue through divisive, separatist VIP elitism. We want to enable low-income guests to attend, but we also need help in return. Many of our family of volunteers are low-income, and generously give to our community in order to attend.
Our low-income tickets are offered to anyone who is working or occupied full-time, but on low-income; please email us at foxandbadge+lowincome@gmail.com with a brief overview of your circumstances.
Anyone who is unemployed but available, we vastly prefer to offer free tickets in exchange for help on e.g. setup during the day, derig after the event etc.
-
We prioritise collective eros. While you won’t find playrooms at our events (typically due to venue licensing), we have many other opportunities for kink and sensual exploration - including our BDSM dungeon, tantra space, and guest shibari zone.
We welcome your descent into the shadows - and await you with loving fierceness ;)
Unfortunately, no penetration or oral sex is allowed.
