It is 1700 - the apex of the Golden Age of Piracy, when shipping routes explode across the Atlantic like a giant fast-paced precursor to the Internet. A shift in geopolitics renders trained navies redundant, and cast desperate, impoverished men out onto the high seas to find sustenance.
Many shipmen became pirates - leaving behind rigid class-ridden hierarchical societies in favour of floating democracies where each man (& increasingly woman) had a vote & an equal share, and new futures felt possible. We celebrate history’s most powerful pirate - a woman: Ching Shih, a Chinese former sex worker, who commanded over 300 ships, and 40,000 pirates.
This is your Call to Adventure.
Our unlikely guide and inspiration is the heroic adventurer archetype of the Pirate - the restless, rebellious, resilient, deeply-misunderstood underdog sea-dog survivor, outcast and adrift, navigating the mysteries and dangers of life at sea, rejecting the rigid old ways in pursuit of the greatest of treasure - that of autonomy, and self-knowledge.
On our journey, we’ll travel through many lands, and encounter many creatures. We’ll sail at speed until the winds slacken, and the waves invite us into their depths. We’ll surrender to their seduction, and the vast mystery of the infinite and the feminine, dancing and gliding ever onwards on our moonlit journey as we expand into our own great uncharted territories, and the rich seas of our soul, in our great ongoing quest towards redemption and transcendence.

Think natural materials, weathered by salt & sea. Think flesh & fabric, muscle & strap, treasure & distress, rags & riches. White wide-sleeved cotton shirts baring your bosom & billowing in the wind. Breeches and corsets as tight as cabins, lashed with the roughness of rope & faded finery; leather & lace; fish-nets & naughtiness; long boots lapping your knees. Braid your hair and button your beard; darken your eyes and adorn your ears; crown with a Tricorn or swaddle your temples with a headscarf; shield an eye with a patch and harbour a squawker on a shoulder; let your sleeves go wide and wild, and your frilly dress explode, or cinch your torso in an exquisitely tailored captain’s coat. Plunder deeper, adorning with seaweed or seashell or the guise of a sea creature, exploring your inner selkie or mermaid.

Reinvent. Experiment. We love wild, sexy creativity, especially lovingly handmade outfits. No big budget needed. Join our Costume Workshop ~3 weeks before the event to create & meet fellow guests.

We want to make our events as accessible as possible; to help us do this please email any questions and access requirements to foxandbadge@gmail.com or contact Studio 338 at (0)333 444 4338. We will be as accommodating as possible. If you purchase a ticket to one of our events and it is not possible for you to queue, please email us to arrange faster access in advance.If you notify the venue prior to your arrival, disabled parking spots can be arranged in the building’s car park. North Greenwich tube station offers step-free access from train to street and just over half a mile away from the club.
The club entrance is wheel-chair accessible.
The ground floor area of the club — which includes the main dance floor, main bar, garden and terrace bar — is fully accessible. The balcony area, however, which is up a flight of stairs, is not able to accommodate wheelchair-users.

This is a high-production, co-created arts & fetish ritual and event. It looks a little like a film set.
Together we can create magic & mystery; the banal & everyday are disruptive and unwelcome, and belong completely elsewhere.
We love sexy, wild creativity. We especially love stuff you carefully and lovingly made yourself.
You don’t have to wear fetish or expose your flesh; you do have to dress thoughtfully on theme.
Absolutely NO daywear, streetwear, businesswear, officewear, banal-wear, or anything off-theme will be allowed. Absolutely NO T-shirts, shirts, jackets, slacks, sneakers - or anything ordinary you’d just wear down the street.

We celebrate expression over restriction, and take and share a modicum of photos and videos our nights. It is not practical or implementable for our crew to ask every guest in our many vast rooms for their explicit consent; please feel entitled to tell any photographers if you do not want to be filmed - or photographed or ask for a white wristband at the door which signifies you do not want to be photographed. Images of the night will be shared discreetly on our channels. We will of course instantly honour the request for removal or blurring of any photos you are not comfortable with; your privacy is paramount.
We kindly request our guests to leave their phones to the side as much as possible, not film the night, and simply be fully present; we will share all our beautiful professional photos & videos with our community immediately after the event. There are strictly no photos allowed in dungeons or sensual spaces. If in doubt, ask. Please only photograph with the utmost consideration, awareness and respect.

We believe in equality & reciprocity. We do not want to generate revenue through divisive, separatist VIP elitism. We want to enable low-income guests to attend, but we also need help in return. Many of our family of volunteers are low-income, and generously give to our community in order to attend.
Our low-income tickets are offered to anyone who is working or occupied full-time, but on low-income; please email us at foxandbadge+lowincome@gmail.com with a brief overview of your circumstances.
Anyone who is unemployed but available, we vastly prefer to offer free tickets in exchange for help on e.g. setup during the day, derig after the event etc.

We prioritise collective eros. While you won’t find playrooms at our events (typically due to venue licensing), we have many other opportunities for kink and sensual exploration - including our BDSM dungeon, tantra space, and guest shibari zone.
