Celtic Spring: Costume Inspo

Celtic Spring is our greatest paean yet to the magnificence of this blessed earth, and we deeply welcome all the ways in which you might DRESS WITH THE EARTH.

Our events aren't just parties - they're journeys & co-created art events; stages for exploration and transformation. Everyone is welcome - but everyday clothes are not. You have every other day to wear the every-day.

For this event we invite you to be deeply EXPLORATIVE & CREATIVE; to craft with nature; to forage and bundle, collect and curate; to have fun & go wild; to look wild; to be wild. This can still be 100% comfortable, gorgeous, attractive (we're not asking you to come in dumpy ghillie suits :)); it can be all you dream of.

BRANCHES

This is one of the rare events where you could very conceivably spend no money on costume - simply by foraging it instead! Nature is bounteous & beckons your body.

We'd love to make the resourceful both natural & gorgeous. We'd love you to go wild.

We'll start with a few more general posts that creatively explore the way you could use different parts of botanical nature to spectacularly adorn yourself.

Branches, twigs, grasses, leaves, moss, mushrooms, ivy, & spring flowers are all perfect.

Our focus is plants, but all majestic animality - horns, antlers, bones, feathers - are deeply welcomed.

We prize imagination; creativity (no matter what you think - you are a creative being); self-reverence; self-love.

MOSS & LEAVES

Today we lovingly embrace that great earth-carpet: MOSS

Moss means so much to so many different cultures. It symbolises protection and guidance to the Native Americans; simplicity, humility, refinement, wonder, and even nostalgia to the Japanese.

Marie Antoinette had a bed made of it at Versailles; why not bed others with your stunning moss costume? You might become irresistible to the tactile-curious, or magnetic to the barefoot.

You might use stuff you find in forests - or dehydrated bags of it; simply glue sprigs to your cheeks or eyebrows, horns or jewellery - or wrap swathes of it into a more dramatic costume...

HAIR

Your mane is your myth. Your costume is your spell.

DIY Tips to Craft Your Celtic Coif:

  • Braided Elegance: Incorporate multiple braids, inspired by the seer Fedelm's legendary three-plaited style—two wrapped around the head and one cascading down the back.

  • Natural Adornments: Embellish your hair with feathers, beads, or leather cords to echo the earthy aesthetics of Celtic lore.

  • Symbolic Shaving: For the bold, consider a partial tonsure—a nod to ancient druids and monks who shaved the front of their heads from ear to ear, symbolizing devotion and distinction.

MAKEUP

This is your permission to go feral with a makeup brush. Think moss-lined eyes, golden freckles, bark-textured brows, sacred smudges and fae freckles. Channel earth, air, fire, and myth.

BODICES

Laced tight with lore, the bodice is a whisper from the past — shaping, holding, enchanting.

She’s structure and softness, armour and invitation. From mossy glens to candlelit halls, bodices speak in curves and corsetry, telling stories stitched in stays and silks.

Cinch the waist and lower the neckline.

Let your silhouette sing.

ARMOUR

Armour isn't just for the battlefield—it's a bold statement of power, sensuality, and self-expression. At Celtic Spring, we're embracing the fusion of ancient strength and modern kink.
From leather harnesses to metal accents, Celtic-inspired armor can add a provocative edge to your ensemble. Whether you're channeling a fierce warrior or a seductive guardian, these pieces are for every body—beyond gender & beyond time.
